About

About Promptcellar.

Built by Rekall.ai — a small team of entrepreneurs, operators and builders who've taken products to market and scaled them.

01 — Why we built this

The reasoning is disappearing.

We are shipping products at unprecedented speed with AI agents — and watching the prompts that drive that code disappear into vendor logs. The commits remain; the reasoning behind them does not.

That gap gets more expensive every year. The prompt is the human signal. The code is the artifact. Throwing away the signal to keep the artifact feels backwards.

So we're building one that doesn't.

02 — Why it's open

Prompts are too important to lock in.

Prompts are too important to lock into a single tool's database. The format is a public spec. The plugin is MIT. The data lives in your repo.

We'd rather have a thousand tools writing PLF than be the only one. Standards win in the long run; proprietary formats lose. We're betting on the long run.

03 — Who's behind it

Open to anyone who shows up.

Promptcellar's core contributor is Dominiek ter Heide.

Contributions, issues, and ideas welcome on GitHub. We read every issue.
